Information we handle

Quote requests may include your name, email, phone, project address, description, timing, measurements, materials and photos you choose to send. Estimator answers and calculations stay in your browser unless you prepare and send an email. Site buttons prepare a message in your own email application; Benchmark receives it only after you send it. Attach selected photos yourself before sending.

Hosting infrastructure processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser details and security logs. Internal aggregate statistics count visits, page views, approximate country, device category, general traffic source and conversion actions. This counter stores no IP address, form values, identity or individual identifier. A temporary browser session marker avoids counting the same session repeatedly; it contains no unique identifier.

Purpose and sharing

Information is used to respond to requests, prepare or validate estimates, communicate about projects, deliver requested services, protect the site and meet applicable obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for behavioural advertising. Access is limited to those who need it for these purposes. Providers may include OpenAI and Cloudflare for hosting and security, email providers, Google Analytics after consent, and professional advisers or authorities when required. Processing may occur outside Québec or Canada; applicable risks and safeguards must be considered before transferring personal information outside Québec.

Cookies and optional analytics

Necessary functions and your privacy choice may use browser storage. Google Analytics is disabled by default and loaded only after you accept optional analytics cookies. You can refuse without losing access to the site or estimators, and change your choice using Manage cookies. Optional analytics may include page views, interactions, approximate visit duration, device type and approximate region.

Retention

Requests without a contract and internal aggregate statistics are kept for up to 24 months, subject to applicable needs or obligations. Client and contract records follow applicable accounting, tax, warranty and limitation periods. Google Analytics data is retained for at most 14 months, subject to shorter tool settings. Technical logs accessible to Benchmark generally cover up to seven days; providers may have their own security retention obligations. Your cookie choice remains in your browser until withdrawn, cleared or replaced by a new consent mechanism. Information is securely destroyed or anonymized when its retention period ends.

Security, rights and incidents

Reasonable safeguards include HTTPS, managed hosting, access controls, limited collection and browser protections; no system provides absolute security. You may request access, correction, withdrawal of consent for the future or deletion where applicable, and raise a privacy question or complaint using the contact above. Reasonable identity verification may be required. Benchmark considers confidentiality incidents, takes steps to reduce risk and keeps a register when required. Incidents presenting a risk of serious injury are reported to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec and affected people as required. Complaints are reviewed by the privacy contact. This policy may be updated to reflect changes in practices or requirements.
